Elmdown House

This project was developed for Public Sector plc as JV partners to the Isle of Wight Council, to gain best value for their land assets.

Elmdon House is a 3 / 4 storey domestic Victorian Villa that has been extended in several phases and then sub-divided to form two learning difficulty units known as Highmead and The Laurels.

The site is within a Conservation area but the building is neither special in form nor detail.  It is a fairly ordinary example of a Victorian Villa, which is now in very poor condition, with extensive and progressive deterioration of the fabric of the building.  It is intended to demolish this and all recent single storey extensions and replace with 10 No new residential dwellings and associated landscape.

 

The scheme gained full planning permission in July 2018 but is on hold until the decant process is completed.
